I have been a ship modeller for 30 years.
Although I first built all kinds of ships I have now specialised in one subject.

At the 1998 Dutch Scale Model Championships
I came into contact with the builder of the model of “Maersk Launcher” – an offshore supply vessel
owned by Maersk Supply Services.
It was this model that inspired me to specialise in offshore supply vessels.

I decided on building “Maersk Master” since this is special type of supply vessel.
A long time was spent searching for the right type of drawing prior to starting building a model on a scale 1:50.

In 2001 I came into contact with the IOS – International Offshore Support Vessel Society
This is a world-wide group of offshore ship modellers sharing their interest in offshore support vessels.
Having specialised in the subject the group has good contacts within the offshore industry.
The IOS group has an international gathering every second year with the next international meeting scheduled for 2008.

My goal is to have my “Maersk Master” completed in time for the IOS Meeting 2008 to be held at Esbjerg, Denmark.
